Hand Tool SIG
Two of our members, Mike Bridger and Mike Brady, have offered to host a SIG with the theme being all aspects of hand tool use in woodworking. Hand tools are experiencing a revival of interest from both collectors of vintage tools and new manufacturers such as Lie-Nielsen. Many woodworkers are blending the use of hand and power tools because hand tools can provide a level of excellence in joinery and finish that is unattainable using power tools and sandpaper alone.
This group will meet at 6:30 p.m. prior to our regular meeting. Quite a few of our members have indicated interest. Be prepared at the first meeting to discuss areas that you would like to explore and also skills that you already have that others can learn from. Eventually there may be topics to present to the entire club, but initially we will cover a different theme each month, as time allows, before the regular club meeting.
